Everything Changed – Mats Eldøen (16-11-2434)

But Then Everything Changed…!

November 29, 2016
Bayfront Theater, San Francisco

Schedule: 1 session
Class date: November 29
Class size: 12 students maximum
Class length: 3 hours
Tuition: $45
Prerequisite: Foundation 2 and above

What makes stories different than everyday life? Something changes. And that again changes us, and suddenly we have a story. All day, everyday, we see routines; the mailman working through his route, the old lady next door watering her plants, the single 35-year-old in the basement having yet another late night party. Routines are goldmines for stories. Once you know one – you only need a tiny change to make a story: The mailman finds a letter for himself, the old lady is bitten by one of the plants or the single 35-year-old wakes up next to someone who actually loves him.

In this 3-hour workshop by veteran improviser from Det Andre Teatret Mats Eldøen you´ll learn how to spot and act out the routines in all settings; from the mundane to the fantastical. You´ll learn how to change yourself, your partner or your environment in order to create stories that will make us laugh, excited, mystified, and sometimes sad.

Mats Eldøen has been playing and teaching improvisation for the last 15 years, both in Norway and internationally. He also works as an actor and have starred in several movies and TV-shows. At the moment he is part of the hit show ”Alt er lov” /”Everything goes” on TV2. The last couple of years he has directed a number of plays, music videos and commercials.
