Summer 2016 – Characters with Tracy Burns (S16-09-2331)

Bringing More Character to Your Characters

Bayfront Theater, San Francisco

Schedule:
11am-4pm on Saturday, September 3rd, with a half hour lunch break
Class size: 12 students maximum
Class length: 4.5 hours total of instruction
Prerequisite:
Foundation 3 and above

This class concentrates on building a character from the ground up.  Working primarily from a physically-based place, participants learn how to create 3-dimensional characters in a short about of time. Using gestures, rhythms, ticks, quirks, postures and other physical and vocal attributes, students can quickly create a character and keep it. Inhabiting a character that is grounded and consistent yet still evolving becomes second nature and playing multiple characters that are clear and distinct becomes easy. Tracy creates a safe and supportive environment so that each student can expand his/her physical and emotional reach in order to create characters that are full, rich, alive and fun to play.

This is a physical class, but if you have any physical limitations please come anyway; Tracy will adjust exercises to suit your abilities. Please wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes.

**Register before June 1st to take advantage of our early registration rate (NON-REFUNDABLE) of $95. After June 1st class price increases to $115.**
