The Once and Future Annex

Transformation is something we aim for all the time on stage, but it’s a rare and wonderful occasion when big changes come to our home at Fort Mason.

Our beloved classroom space, The Annex is getting quite a makeover, from classroom space to classroom AND performance space!

So we thought we’d document the process in photos to share, and someday look back on where this new, wonderful space began.

Enjoy!

The  big archway on the Bay side of the room comes down.  There’s something really charming about a smiling demolition team.

The carpet goes away (so THAT’S what was under there),  along with the archway debris (well, most of it).

BIG ORANGE WALL!!!  We all fell in love with this wall.  And our beautiful new hardwood floor starts going in.

Floor installed and ready for sealing. Devin, who’s been instrumental in planning this build-out, overseeing every step and putting in some crazy hours, looks like he’s doing a little broom-prov. Or he’s just sweeping – you decide which sounds better.

Floors sealed, orange wall still looks amazing.  Next up: acoustic panels and new lights!

Stay tuned – we’ll keep sharing updates!
