Summer 2015 – Straight/Clown 15-08-2128

Straight Man/Clowning

Bayfront Theater, San Francisco

Schedule: Tuesday, August 11, 10am-6pm (with a 1-hour lunch break from 1:30-2:30pm)
Class size: 12 students maximum
Class hours: 7 hours of instruction total

This is a class that will delve deeper into games, scenes and long-form using advanced acting techniques and awareness of roles to bring out the best comic scene possible.   We’ll study traditional Straight Man/Clown techniques, comedic character work and use of physical space to create comic scenes with heart, depth and power.   We’ll also study the balance between Comedy and Drama and how to offset one with the other to enhance the depth of any scene.
