Sketch Pad 2: Writing Sketch Comedy for Improvisers

Class times/dates: 7–10pm, Thursdays June 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28, August 4, 11, and 18
Performance: One performance, Saturday, August 20th at 10:30pm
Class size:16 students maximum
Class length: 3 hours (24 hours total

Prerequisite: Sketch Pad 1 or equivalent

We’re puttin’ on a show, starring AND written by…YOU!

This 8 week class will build upon your sketch comedy writing and improv performance skills, culminating in an original satirical sketch show written and performed by the students (directed by the instructor).  You’ll learn new content generation techniques, new sketch formats, methods to sharpen the “voice” in your sketches, and ways to create original yet memorable characters.

Students should have some improv performance experience, and have taken the SketchPad 1 class (or equivalent).  Coach/Dean approval is required; email regina@improv.org with any eligibility questions.
