Performance Workshop 3 –
Elements of Long Form

Schedule: 8 sessions; 2 performances
Class Time/Dates: 7-10pm on Wednesdays
August 23, 30, September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 4, and 11
Performances: Two performances: one open workshop on Wednesday, October 4 and one performance on Sunday, exact date TBD (either the week before or immediately following the final class session)
Class size: 10 students maximum
Class length: 3 hours (24 hours total of instruction)

This 8-week workshop, the third in our Performance Series, prepares you for your first
Long-Form performance in front of an audience by breaking down and covering these different core elements of performance:
- Taking your time and paying attention
- Narrative, and establishing a strong foundation
- Acting
- Improvising in genre
- Transitions between scenes
- Ensemble acting
- Building locations and maintaining a space object world
This class will qualify you to be considered for more advanced work as it will give you a grounding in the essential elements of Long-Form improvisation as BATS practices it.
