Performance Workshop 3 – 
Elements of Long Form
Tuesdays, 7:00 – 10:00 PM

June 26 – August 14, 2018
Cubberley Community Center, Palo Alto

Schedule: 8 sessions; 2 performances
Class Time/Dates: 7-10pm on Tuesdays
June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, and 14
Performances: Two performances TBD
Class size: 10 students maximum
Class length: 3 hours (24 hours total of instruction) 
Prerequisite: Performance Workshops 1 and 2, or coach/dean approval. Please contact with any eligibility questions.

This 8-week workshop, the third in our Performance Series, prepares you for your first
Long-Form performance in front of an audience by breaking down and covering these different core elements of performance: 

  • Taking your time and paying attention
  • Narrative, and establishing a strong foundation
  • Acting
  • Improvising in genre
  • Transitions between scenes
  • Ensemble acting
  • Building locations and maintaining a space object world

This class will qualify you to be considered for more advanced work as it will give you a grounding in the essential elements of Long-Form improvisation as BATS practices it.
