I – Intro to Improv For LGBTQ – Rebecca P at FMC (#18-02-2703)

Intro to Improv for LGBTQ at Fort Mason
Sunday, 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Sunday, January 28, 2018
Bayfront Theater, San Francisco

Schedule: One session
Class date: January 28th
Class length: 3 hours
Tuition: $45
Prerequisite: None – all adults 18 and over are welcome!

This class is an introduction to the basics of improv specifically for folks self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender, gender diverse, intersex, questioning, and queer (phew!) – and their allies.

This 3-hour workshop is an introduction to BATS-style improv, focused on creating a comfortable and safe environment. You’ll learn the basics behind improvised theater—spontaneity, playfulness, creativity, listening and storytelling, to name a few—and give you a chance to explore what BATS-style improv is all about. Improv skills build trust, cooperation, and flexibility, and tap into the imaginative and creative qualities that we all possess!

This fun, energizing, and playful 3-hour workshop is a great introduction before taking Foundation 1, or also great as a stand-alone, one time session of play!

About the coach: Rebecca Poretsky, a queer improviser, (she’s also queer when she’s not improvising…) is passionate about improvising, making improv more accessible to everyone and PLAYING
