Class length: 3 hours (12 hours total)
Class size: 10 students maximum
Tuition: $180
Prerequisite: Foundation 3 and above

Do you seem to mostly play some version of yourself when improvising? Or perhaps you are hesitant to play characters who are different from you because you think you don’t know how to do it, or you’re afraid you’ll do it “wrong”? Would you like to make stronger character choices and hold on to those for the duration of a scene?
In this four session class, we’ll explore the various ways of making strong and varied character choices and then seeing how those characters live in and interact in improvised scenes. We’ll explore options to vary characters in tempo, attitude, and theme, and see what it’s like to play everybody from larger-than-life cartoonish characters to more nuanced, grounded, and believable characters. You’ll leave with a bigger range of who and what you can play, and a concrete set of tools you can call upon in your improv to play someone or something else with commitment and heart. Requirements: Foundation 3 and above.
