Accents with Ken Robertson (#17-08-2590)

Improvising in Accents
Tuesdays, 7:00 – 10:00 PM

August 22 – August 29, 2017
Bayfront Theater, San Francisco

Schedule: 2 sessions (once a week for 2 weeks)
Class dates: August 22 and 29
Class length: 3 hours (6hours total of instruction)
Tuition: $90
Prerequisite: Studio Scene Work

Accents are a powerful way to dramatically expand character range, and they’re an absolute necessity for performing formats like Downton Abbey, Tennessee Williams, Improvised Hitchcock and Warp Speed (the Federation doesn’t recruit JUST from North America).  British, cockney, Irish, Scottish, German, French, Italian, American Southern – each week we’ll focus on different accents and their variations, practicing the sounds and physical speech mechanics for each, showing techniques to recall a particular accent on-the-spot, and ways to keep accents sharp throughout a whole show. Then we’ll put your new found accent skills into practice with improvised scene work.  It’s a verbal tour of the world that no improviser should miss!
