Options for Bad Parking Days
When there are big events at Fort Mason, we encourage you to take public transportation, carpool, and/or leave some extra time for parking before your classes. Depending on how large the event it, it is usually still a good idea to check the Fort Mason parking lots first, but we have also compiled a list of recommendations for days when parking is especially tough.
Other parking lots (all about a 15 min walk to BATS)
Lombard Street Garage – 2055 Lombard Street Rates are between $1 and $3 per hour (depending on time of day). HotelDel Sol – Hotel address is 3100 Webster st. and the parking lot entrance is just around the corner on Lombard St. $10/day. Wells Fargo Lot – 2055 Chestnut Street $2.50 each 15 min or $20 for 10 hours. $13 on Sundays.
Valet Parking apps
Luxe Valet – avg. hourly rate of $5 and max of $15/day ZIRX – $15/day (their coverage area does not go all the way to Fort Mason but you could call them near Ghirardelli square and walk the rest of the way)
Public Transportation
When parking is bad, the easiest way to get here is by public transportation! Several bus (MUNI) lines stop close to Fort Mason Center:
- 10 Townsend (comes from the Financial District)
- 22 Fillmore (comes from Potrero Hill, up along Fillmore, stopping just a few blocks away)
- 28 – 19th Avenue (comes from SFSU, with the nearest stop at Lombard and Laguna)
- 30 Stockton
- 47 Van Ness (comes straight up Van Ness, stopping just a few blocks away)
- 49 Van Ness/Mission (comes straight up Van Ness, stopping just a few blocks away)
- 82x Presidio/Wharves Express
Need more help? Try the Bay Area public transportation Trip Planner (511.org). And don’t forget you can always take taxis, Lyft, Uber, etc! (If you’re a first time user to these apps, you can usually find a code for a free first use if you do a little Google searching.) None of these parking options are owned or operated by BATS Improv, and all parking is subject to availability. If you have any edits or tips to help us improve this list, please let us know at bats@improv.org.
