In Studio Scene Work students hone their improv skills and narrative storytelling.Students will learn:
- Identifying the basic information of the scene.Who are these characters, how do they know each other, where are they, and why are they there?
- Embodying the basic information of the scene. How can we as actors, shift our body, face, voice, and imagination to establish and support the world we are creating.
- Scene structure:including how to effectively start and end scenes, and how to build momentum in the middle.
ONGOING Studio Scene Work means there is no set end date and students are encouraged to make the class their home base of improv.
In the ongoing classes, students work with the same coach for an extended period of time. This helps them deepen their work and focus on individualized challenges. The coach has individual progress in mind as they advance the class and tailor it to the needs at hand. Subsequent coaches come in that bring specific skills to the ensemble.
