Guest Coach

Ian Anstee is an actor/writer/improvisor hailing from Philadelphia. At the sprightly age of four, Ian made his debut on the stage as a jewel bearer in The Jewels of The Madonna. Since then, he’s acted, sang, produced, and directed with both amateur and professional theaters in the Philadelpha/Bay Area.

Ian studied improvisation through the Walnut Street Theater and at Stanford University under Dan Klein & Lisa Rowland. He’s a proud member of the Stanford Improvisors, with whom he performs, coaches, and organizes workshops and events. Ian joined forces with BATS in the summer of 2016 when he began helping coordinate their Summer School program!

When he’s not performing or sending emails, Ian loves working with kids and young adults. He currently works with adolescents through Camp Kesem, a program for children whose parents are affected by cancer. He also serves as the long-term coach for the The H.I.T. Squad, a high-school improv team based out of Hillsdale High School.
Ian is entering his senior year at Stanford University where he studies English. He specializes in creative fiction and hopes to publish a book of short stories in the near future!
