This show is part of the BATS Improv
20th Anniversary celebration.

The schedule of shows in November will honor BATS place in the history of Theatresports on the West Coast. Since BATS traces its roots to Seattle Theatresports and later helped spawn Los Angeles Theatresports, those two troupes will be part of the celebration.

The first weekend of November, Seattle Theatresports/Unexpected Productions will be our special guests. The second weekend of November, we will celebrate with shows featuring past and present members of the Main Stage Company in an alumni Theatresports extravaganza. And the third weekend of November, we welcome Los Angeles Theatresports/Impro Theatre.

Nov. 3 – Theatresports: BATS vs. Seattle
Nov. 4 – Campfire (Long-Form from Seattle)
Nov. 10 – 20th Anniversary Show
Nov. 11 – Alumni Theatresports
Nov. 17 – Theatresports: BATS vs. LA
Nov. 18 – Hell Show (Long-Form from LA)

Theatresports Grudge Match: San Francisco vs. Seattle
20th Anniversary: BATS takes on our friends from Unexpected Productions

Date: Friday, November 3
Time: 8 p.m.
Tickets: $12 advance/$15 at the door
Ensemble: Main Stage Company vs. Unexpected Productions

Theatresports is improvisation played as a sporting event. Two teams of improvisers compete in a series of scenes, games, and challenges vying for points awarded by three Olympic style judges (who score each scene on a scale from one to five.)

The audience is involved throughout the show, shouting suggestions and volunteers are usually invited to participate in one of the rounds. At the end of the evening, the team with the most points wins. It’s wildly entertaining and BATS Improv’s most popular show.

In 1986, Rebecca Stockley, a teacher from Seattle Theatresports taught the Theatresports format to a group of San Francisco actors. Thus BATS was born. As every child must challenge and ultimately defeat their parent, so too, we take on the theatre company from which we sprang.

BATS and Seattle tangle head-to-head in improvised scenes, songs, and games. Who will emerge victorious?

BATS Team: William Hall, Dave Dennison, and Zoe Galvez vs. The Seattle Team: Jay Hitt, Jeremy Richards, and John Faga MC: Rebecca Stockley

Online box office closes at 7 p.m. the night of the show. Remaining tickets can be purchased at the theater the night of the show.
