Studio Scene Work – with Dave Dennison (#20-10-3278)

Studio Scene Work:
Saturdays 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

October 10 – October 31, 2020
Online

Schedule: 4 sessions (once a week for 4 weeks)
Class dates: October 10, 17, 24 & 31
Class length: 2 hours (8 hours total)
Class size: 10 students maximum
Tuition: $125
Prerequisite: Foundation 3

Students will focus on slowing down and working on the basic elements of an improv scene:

  • Identifying the basic information of the scene.  Who are these characters, how do they know each other, where are they, and why are they there?
  • Embodying the basic information of the scene.  How can we as actors, shift our body, face, voice, and imagination to establish and support the world we are creating.

In Studio Scene Work students hone their performance skills, such as being seen and heard, listening, character, and being fun to play with. The smaller class size gives students more opportunities to work and gives coaches more opportunities to provide detailed feedback. Studio Scene Work is a great tune-up for advanced students who have taken a break from studying. It can be taken multiple times. Students move out of Studio Scene Work when the coach and Dean determine the student is ready to advance to Performance Level classes.
