This four-week workshop focuses on the stage values of improv and provides an introduction to the improvisation in the context of performance.
Students work on movement, voice, and stage craft, including using your body in the space to tell the story, and creating improvised stage pictures. Students will perform games and scenes while learning the skills of the stage.
This course is designed for students who want to continue on a performance track with BATS and perform improv on stage in front of an audience. Course work helps students learn how to fill the theater vocally and physically:
- Have good vocal projection (how to be heard in the back row!)
- Move with flexibility and comfort on stage
- Use stage picture to enhance scenes
- Practice good space object and where work
- Use your voice and physicality to create character
