Dan began improvising in 1988 as a student of Patricia Ryan's improv class at Stanford University. He may still hold the undergraduate record for most units of improv (18) applied towards graduation. Since then, he has worked in science educational theater, middle school drama, corporate training, creative arts camps, stage, television, and film acting.

Dan joined the BATS Company in 1995 and is currently the Dean of the School. He teaches improv at BATS, ACT, Stanford Continuing Studies, The Peninsula Improvisers, The Academy of Art College, The Vector Theater Conservatory, and elsewhere.

Besides with BATS, Dan can be seen: on the Lifetime Channel in the original movie A Mother's Fight for Justice, in the independent film Fishing With Ghandi (available at Hollywood Video), and performing sketch comedy with Kasper Hauser.

Dan is proud to be a father, son, husband, brother, nephew and uncle, simultaneously.
