Jenny Meyer Named New Dean of BATS School of Improvisational Theatre

San Francisco (November 1, 2004) - Jenny Meyer is the new dean of the BATS School of Improvisational Theatre.

Meyer, who has served as the coordinator of the BATS Young Audience program since 2002, has been improvising for more than ten years and teaching improv since 1998. She is a member of the BATS Company Players (having previously played with both the Sunday Players and the Belfry) and is a member of the BATS coaching staff.

The dean is responsible for the management of BATS' Improv School. The dean sets curriculum, determines the schedule of classes with the registrar, selects and trains coaches, assigns coaches to teaching assignments, directs student performance groups, develops and maintains good student relations, and leads the summer school program.

Meyer replaces Dan Klein who served as BATS dean since 2002.

Meyer also works for the San Francisco Giants where she maintains (and even turns!) advertising signs at SBC Park. She also teaches improv to kids all over the Bay Area.
