BATS
Improv Anniversary Fund Drive
Wow! It’s been an amazing year celebrating BATS Improv’s 20th Anniversary and we want to thank all of our friends and supporters who made this milestone possible.
Together, we marked 20 years of improvisational theatre by honoring our past and celebrating with those who helped build and grow this organization. The fun included:
• Hosting our friends from Unexpected Productions (Seattle Theatresports) and Impro Theatre (Los Angeles Theatresports) for special Theatresports matches and long-form shows while celebrating BATS’ place in the history of Theatresports on the West Coast.
• Gathering with more than 300 friends at one heck of an Anniversary Party! It was terrific to see so many players and supporters, past and present, all in the same room, re-connecting, reminiscing and toasting one another for the organization we built together. And it was fun to see alumni players back on the BATS stage throughout the anniversary month.
• A proclamation from the mayor naming November 10, 2006, “BATS Improv Day.”
• Plus the theater itself got a nice face-lift, including new paint, framed posters from past BATS shows, and permanent history displays in the lobby that tell the BATS story. It truly is one of the finest theater facilities in the country dedicated exclusively to improvisational theatre.
It was a terrific celebration and we are grateful to the many, many people who made it possible.
While the anniversary gave us a chance to remember our past, it is also a time to look to our future. It was impossible to be at the Anniversary Party with some of the BATS founders and not think about the work that they did 20 years ago that helped insure that BATS would have a long life.
Now is our time to invest in BATS, to make sure that it has a bright future and insure that it continues to touch lives for another 20 years.
As we come to the end of the calendar year and you think about end-of-the-year charitable donations, please remember BATS Improv. Your 20th Anniversary donation supports all of the programs that make BATS special—the shows and workshops, the Laughing Stock program for the chronically ill, and our Young Audiences program that takes improvisation into the schools.
Thanks for your consideration and your continued support of BATS Improv.
Sincerely,
John Kovacevich
