Summer Sessions Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the BATS School of Improv’s Summer Sessions. Students have come from all over the world to participate in these unique intensive classes. Each year we host notable guest coaches, such as Theatresports™ founder Keith Johnstone and Blind Date creator Rebecca Northan. This year we’re pleased to welcome back Patricia Madsen Ryan, author of Improv Wisdom (and a coach at the very first Summer Session in 1994!).

Kasey Klemm to Serve Second Term as BATS Artistic Director

BATS Improv is pleased to announce that Kasey Klemm, BATS Artistic Director since 2011, will be serving a second term and continuing as Artistic Director through 2017. Kasey began studying improv at BATS in 1997 and joined the Main Stage Company in 2000.

Giants Hold Team Tryouts: BATS On-the-Go Team Visits AT&T Park

March 25, 2011

The BATS On-the-Go team visited AT&T Park today to help train potential stadium staff. The high profile training was captured by the KNTV (NBC Bay Area) News team and later broadcast on the 6 o’clock news. The trainees were trying out for positions as stadium promoters during SF Giants games. Trainers included BATS Company members Barbara Scott, Laura Derry, Regina Saisi, and OTG Director Chris Sams.
