BATS Improv is holding auditions for its Company Guest Program on Monday, April 26, 2010, from 6 to 10 p.m. A limited number of audition spots are available to improvisers who must have significant improv and performing experience. Audition applications are due Monday, April 19, by 5 p.m.
The Guest Program is an opportunity for a limited number of experienced improvisers to perform with BATS' Main Stage Company for approximately nine months between June 2010 and February 2011. Company Guests are apprentice performers and participate in the activities and performances of BATS' Main Stage Company. There is no pay or compensation.

Callbacks will be held Mondays, May 3rd and May 10th, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Auditioners should be available for one, but preferably both, of these days. Auditioners should not prepare any material for the audition. Auditions are generally held in pairs in up to 15 minute increments. Auditioners should not prepare any material.
Participation in the program is an excellent opportunity for training and performing with one of the country's premiere improvisational companies.
Company Guests are apprentice performers and participate in the activities and performances of BATS' Main Stage Company. As a company guest you are required to attend the company workouts, be available to perform and receive feedback from the BATS Company for the term.
At the end of the guest term, an individual Company Guest may or may not be asked to join the Main Stage Company. The Company does not guarantee that it will add any new members at the end of the playing term. Participation in the Guest Program should be viewed as performance and training opportunity in and of itself and not a means to Company membership.
Founded in 1986, BATS Improv is San Francisco 's largest improvisational theatre company. From their own 200 seat theater in the Marina District , BATS produces a variety of shows year round, including competitive formats like Theatresports, plus story-based improvisational works including Shakespeare, Musicals, Dramas, Murder Mysteries and many more.
WHO: You must have significant improvisational performance experience and/or training. Traditional acting experience/training is also a plus. BATS Improv highly values commitment to character and narrative.
